Choose Diploma or Degree before checking grades

UEW’s general Degree route requires six credits and aggregate 36 or better. Its published Diploma route allows D7 in the required core subjects while retaining three relevant elective credits. Programme-specific conditions apply. Read UEW’s entry requirements.

This difference is important when one core subject is below credit level. Selecting “UEW” alone is not enough to decide which application fits your result. Write the full programme title and intended qualification first.

Worked example: the same student, two routes

Imagine English D7, Mathematics C6 and Social Studies C5, with three relevant electives at B3, C4 and C5. The six-subject total is 30.

A Degree assessment that requires an English credit identifies the English grade as unmet. A Diploma route allowing D7 in that core subject can lead to a different general assessment, provided the other requirements are met.

If English improves from D7 to C6, the illustrative total becomes 29. The student should still check relevant electives and any additional course conditions. Improving one grade changes one part of the application, rather than removing the need to review the whole programme.

Check the exact programme’s exceptions

Read the section for the course you intend to study, particularly where similar names appear. A Diploma intended for school leavers may have a different entry route from a programme requiring an existing tertiary qualification.

Highlight every sentence that uses words such as “including”, “relevant”, “must possess” or “interview”. Turn those conditions into a checklist. If your elective is not explicitly listed, ask the department whether it satisfies the requirement.

Keep the response with the application records. It will be easier to explain a decision later if you have a specific programme statement instead of a general social-media claim.

Compare study mode and practical arrangements

Confirm whether the programme is regular, distance, sandwich or another advertised mode. Check the teaching location, attendance periods and any practical requirements. Budget for transport and accommodation as well as tuition.

If you plan to work while studying, compare the timetable with your actual working hours. Ask how examinations and teaching practice, where relevant, are scheduled. A study mode described as flexible still has obligations that need planning.

Use the correct assessment and application option

Select UEW and the appropriate qualification in UniAdmission Checker, enter the grades as recorded and read the resulting breakdown. A requirements-match percentage describes the general checks in that assessment.

When you are ready to apply, review UEW admission forms on SellePins and confirm the correct option. Enter examination details carefully, review all course choices and save the final confirmation.
