NSMQ 2026 Schedule: Read the Official Programme and Fixture Updates

Use the organiser's NSMQ 2026 programme as a dated reference, distinguish stages from individual fixtures and check updates before travelling.

2026 competition completed: use this page as an archive

Update checked 24 October 2026: the organiser’s official news archive reports that PRESEC won the 2026 championship at the Grand Finale on 10 September. The programme below is historical, not an upcoming event schedule. Follow the organiser for future competition announcements.

A national programme tells you when a competition stage is planned. It does not necessarily give the latest time or venue for every individual contest. When following NSMQ, keep those two types of information separate.

The organiser's published programme

The organiser's 2026 championship announcement scheduled the preliminary stage for 20–24 August and the Grand Finale for 10 September 2026. This page records the announced programme; it does not report today's final result or confirm that every individual fixture ran unchanged.

Check the fixture you intend to follow

Use the organiser's fixture updates for contest-specific information. Check the publication date, stage and school names. A preliminary-stage pairing should not be reused as a later-round fixture.

Before travelling to a contest

Confirm the current venue and time through the organiser. Check whether the announcement explains attendance arrangements. Keep the date with any screenshot you save; a cropped graphic without a stage or date is easy to misinterpret.

A useful way to follow your school

Keep a small record of the stage, opponent schools, announced date and link to the organiser's update. Add the result only after it is published by a reliable source. This prevents a schedule from being mistaken for a score or a prediction.

Use past fixtures as an archive

Once a stage has passed, its programme is useful for locating coverage, not for planning a future visit. For a school's academic choice, consider its programme and practical circumstances separately from quiz performance. A competition result is not an admission decision.
