The 2026 BECE results have officially been released by the West African Examinations Council.
Candidates who sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination for School Candidates can now access their provisional results online using a valid results checker.
Schools can also obtain the results of their candidates through the official WAEC school results portal.
BECE 2026 candidate statistics
WAEC disclosed that 620,243 candidates participated in the examination.
The candidates included 304,415 males and 315,828 females from 20,789 schools across Ghana.
The examination took place at 2,237 centres, while 3,601 registered candidates were absent.

Results affected by examination irregularities
WAEC cancelled the subject results of 496 candidates and the entire results of 105 candidates.
Subject results belonging to 119 candidates and the entire results of 48 candidates were withheld.
The Council is also investigating the subject results of 2,722 candidates from 29 schools. Decisions on these cases are expected by August 31, 2026.
Candidates affected by withheld or cancelled results can check their status through WAEC’s irregularity portal.
WAEC has cautioned candidates against paying anyone who claims to be able to upgrade examination results. Such promises are fraudulent because WAEC results are secured and authenticated.
